Default F150 2002 - What is this?
I found this part under my truck in the driveway. Since I found it, I notice a clunk or two every time I turn. Any ideas on what it is?

that is a vibration damper that was originally on the exhaust system somewhere.
usually back by the muffler

How important to repair? Seems my muffler is moving around now a little more than normal. Does this piece do anything to hold the exhaust in place?

Looks like for the price of a muffler clamp you can put it back on....
