Expedition Slid in a ditch
So this guy was trying to leave the car show and he slid his truck into a ditch. After dragging it sideways about 10-15 yards I got him out.
It was worse than it looked in these pics

Dang...with those rear wheels in the air, that would have been a little concerning if I was in there. (oh wait, maybe that is just when he was getting pulled out).
such a nice guy to pull him out!

pftttt, I think a Geo metro could have pulled it out if it was on blacktop like that....
just kidding, lol
thats nice of ya, I usually do the same when people get stuck in the winter, and I always keep a chain in the back of my truck, you never know when you will need it.

Nice job!
Be VERY careful with chains tho and make sure you never yank someone/something with one.
I know that guy was having fun when he had three wheels on the ground, I managed to do that twice this weekend going down a huge hill will very deep ruts, which was not very comforting.

if you dont yank on it, and have something over it in case it does brake, it is better to use in my opinion, and with the chain, it is much easier to shorten it to length, and my chain also has one large link in the middle that can go around a ball on a receiver hitch so that you can pull a vehicle by the tow hooks if need be. it is also nice because you can just keep it in the bed and not have to wory about it rotting or fraying.
and I have yanked on chains with no problems in the past, it is just that most of the chains people use and snap are one of those "econo" tow chains if you know what I mean. the one I have must be at least 30 years old with links as thick as my thumb.
