2 ways:
Look under the hood right in front of the grille and it will tell you either a 4.6 or a 5.4.
Also look on the front quarter panel right in front of the driver's side door on the F150 chrome badge and it will say 5.4 if you have the 5.4. If it doesn't say 5.4 than you have the 4.6.
Hope this helps!!!!

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
You are the person that makes me want to tear my hair out at work everyday. How can you buy a truck and not know what engine you have in it. That is almost as bad as " I don't know , I just drive it." Please tell me you don't do your own mechanic work. And if you do where do you live , so I can out stay out of your trucks way. All I can think about is all those extra parts you are gonna have after you do your brake job.
Please overlook me....I am just ranting after a long day at the parts store. Dealing with ppl that have no idea what they are doing. So i am just kidding.

For those still on the American system - 1 liter = about 61 cubic inches
So a 4.6L will be about 281 CID, a 5.4L will be about 330 CID, a 4.2L will be about 256 CID -- +/- about 3 CID due to rounding.
There is likely an engine code in the VIN - don't know the deciphering scheme offhand.

Engine Size
On my FX4 It says it real big on the Intake Plastic 5.4 Triton ... I also looked at a model that had the 4.6 in it but since I pull a trailer I went with the 5.4..I will start posting pictures of my truck soon .. Also you will know if you got the 5.4 when you hit the gas petal , you will be sucked deep in the seat... I blew that corvette right off the road yesterday ... OR WAS THAT OFF-ROAD....
