Default Engine Sevice Light Problem

I have a 2003 Harley F150 pick up truck with the supercharged motor. I'm having problems with the yellow service light coming up all of the time.
The truck now runs constantly with the warning light on which means the computor is in fault mode which lowers horsepower and ruins mpg. The light will reset by disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery but will come back on within a few miles.

Throttle sensor switch has been replaced twice and hasnt worked. The odd thing is the light will stay on longer if the transmission isnt in overdrive, switch into overdrive on a straight and with the motor spinning over 2500 rpm and it stays off for longer. Leave it in overdrive take a slow turn and let the rpm drop to 1500 or so and the light will come on straight away.

I live in the UK I have heard that there have been problems with some transmissions in the US having related issues. Anyone heard of anything that might help?

Regards

Dale
