Default Engine light on after small upgrades

Hey guys,
I have a 2016 and decided to do some small improvements now in getting the check engine light.

I pulled off my rear bumper to paint it and and installed extra Led lights into the bumper connected straight to my reverse lights. (add extra light when in reverse)

I replugged all my harness together the way it was and do beleive I didnt screw up the electrical on the lights as it was litteraly adding 2 wires from the new lights to the existing 2 wires from the reverse lights. everything works as well...( could the truck be sensing a heavier load on the fuse?)

I also removed my grille to redo that as well. The grill had 2 electrical connections so again that seems pretty fool proof when i reinstalled it.

if anyone can give me advice on where to start it would be appreciated!

Id bring it into a shop for a check engine diagnostic. but the only garage is pretty far from me.

thanks a bunch

You won't know what the CEL is on for without a code reader, it could be almost anything, and it's doubtful it's related to the lights.

Get a reader or stop by AutoZone, etc.

Ordered a 20$ OBD2 wifi reader off amazon. uses your phone to operate. Shows what I know, thought those readers were more like 200$

always bro, ALWAYS. Better safe than sorry, right? Code reader...you'll use it morethan once and even a basic one will reset/erase the code. If it comes back then you may have an issue that needs more attention.

Code reader is a good idea. Once everyone knows you have it, you will get new friends!

I use mine way more than I ever expected!
