Oh gawd, now that pic is definitely distracting!

I agree RPMs can mean a lot or a little, my truck pulling my 3H GN horse trailer pulls well in 5th at 65-70 on the freeway, it will do 6th on flats, but I usually lock that out just to save lag time when I have to accelerate and also to keep it from hunting in hills. I run less than 2500 in 5th at 70, so really not working the engine very hard at all. I dont seem to see too many threads about overheating 5.0s.
But in your scenario, I guarantee you'd be pulling that trailer in 6th at 1800 rpm at 70 mph with an Ecoboost all day long. So the EB is turning about 25% less. If you tow that trailer say 50% of the life of the truck, that ends up being a lot more rpm. Hard to say what that ends up meaning as far as longevity and whatnot, but it is something to think about, I suppose.

There is a lot of room for tuners on 5.0. But ive heard that a lot of ppl with the EB that have put tuners have blew up because they cant handle that extra push. Of course this is just from what ive heard and IMO it makes sense. Both have had problems though but I hear a lot more with the EB.
A tuner on a turbo charged engine can increase output by, well, it depends on your imagination. How much air and fuel do you want to try to stuff in the cylinders? So it is easy for someone to plug in a tuner and without doing anything else, be running an additional 50% or more above stock power. No surprise that there can be problems in those scenarios!
To me, it really isn't fair to point to modified or tuned engines and cite those as reliability issues.

To summarize, getting more power out of less displacement means the motor is not going to last as long.
So let's go back to those old motor that were both bigger and made less power and never made it to 100,000 miles.
Wait. What? You mean technology can improve both power and reliability? Ho. Lee. Crap!
But I agree, in 30 years 99% of ecoboost trucks will be scrap......

I like it when we agree. What we disagree on is if enough was done to the eb to make it last as long as the 3.7 or 5.0. It would really surprise me, but pleasantly. I think if you talk to the engineers who designed it, they would look like this:

That's right bobshuman...some folks can be really immature!
(says the guy who joined a week ago and hasn't taken the time to read the 438 million posts on this subject! )
BTW I love Bill Murray...
See for me, it comes down to preference.
3.7 vs 3.5tt vs 5.0 vs 6.2
I like the twin turbos...but sometimes the 6.2 would also be nice to take for a drive!

I am sorry you are immature. I read all of the posts on this subject and learned a lot. Just so you know, there are only 4,239,331 previous posts on this subject. I like the lady on the far left the best, but they can all eat crackers in my bed.

How many of them did you post in as your other 15 banned user names?

I read through your posts. You have never added anything of value.
The only thing I ever see you posts are complaints about others:
