I have a 96 F-150, when I switch from front tank to the rear the engine dies. I replaced the rear tank fuel pump today, still have the same problem. Any ideas??

Possibly the selector valve, suggest using the search button for more write-ups on it.

You should buy a haynes or chiltons manual at your local auto parts, $15 bucks and shows you everything. A must have for working on your truck.

I notice when I looked on internet for Ford truck recalls. There was a topic concerning 1990's Ford F150s about problems with the dual fuel tanks problems with fuel flows, fuel pump check valves and inadvertent bleeding off of fuel tanks.
