I've never owned a Ram so I can't speak for quality but looks are definitely there. Cummins is a huge selling point for them, but I don't think it's the only one. Here in Canada they fall second to Ford but outsell all the other including Chev and GM, so it's got to be more than the motor.

I must be one of the few that can't stand the looks of the Ram 1500. To me it looks too rounded with awkward proportions, but I guess looks are subjective and people like what they like.

I like them down. I sat in sgtpatiolantern's Ram 3500 work truck and he flipped the tow mirrors up, and I couldn't see shat-all. I actually prefer the standard non-towing mirrors on the Rams.

Yes, the Commons gets people in the door, but, over the long hall, it will burn up a Mopar tranny, and the power of the Commons will shake the thing to pieces!
I spent a lot of time in TV news at my local NBC affiliate, and I've seen just about everything on the road wrecked. IF you are going to be in a wreck, you absolutely do not want to be in a Dodge! Class for class, nothing folds up like "Mother Mopar"
In Fact, I've seen Fords give up a lot of size to a Dodge (ex: Escort VS Intrepid) and still come out on top!
