Keep in mind the dealer told me 2 days ago nothing was wrong and I could come in and pick up my truck. I am beyond words. As of today the turbo is on back order and it will be ready to ship on 1/28 but no guarantees.

So now I have a loaner and my truck is sitting torn apart in the garage until they have the parts.

To top it off, my wife and I drove a 2015 expedition one week ago and now I wonder if I want to give ford anymore of my business. Not because my truck is down for service but due to the fact their service department is pathetic.
I love how some get so worked up about a truck, it's like there emotionally invested in some sort of human relationship. It's mechanical, things are going to wear out and break. Get it fixed, life goes on.

Plus, there have been a few that have had the quick connect fail on the coolant hose going to the turbo. Search around as there is a guy that did a write up on how to fix the hose. It's a weak link, but as more of these show up, it will become easier to diagnosis and fix. There is a lot of heat at that connection constantly heating and cooling causing the connection to stress and fail. It happens, your truck will be fine.

To clarify my posts, the entire reason I am upset is not because the turbo is shot and needs replaced. Things break and I fully understand that. My issue is that the dealer told me Tuesday morning that there was nothing wrong with the truck and to come pick it up. It was only after I questioned them and they took another look that they found a problem. First it was the coolant line and then ultimately the turbo.

No. We are two different people with potentially the same problem. I apologize if I was out of line since I was not the original poster.

I took my truck in this morning. They provided me with a rental. At the end of day they called me and said that they needed to replace the turbo. The impeller seal was leaking. They said it would be 10 -14 days to get the part and that when the part came in they would set up another appointment for the replacement. I was kind of surprised that it would take that long to get the part. They indicated it would be a direct ship from the supplier. Hopefully the leak will not get any worst before the replacement.

I don't agree with your statement. When you spend 40 to 50k on a truck you are somewhat in a relationship. I'd be really worked up if I invested that much of my hard earned money to have "a few" quick connects fail. If you know of "a few" just from this forum then ford needs to figure out what's causing the problem and fix it because the problem is pretty sizeable. My 05 has 100k on it so if I have a problem then I wouldn't get worked up because it's gonna need some tlc in its later years but a 40k dollar truck shouldn't have any trouble before 30k miles. I'd be willing to bet ford still uses that same quick connect today even with known problems.

Remember some parts of the country are buried in snow right now. If the part is in one of those states I could easily see it taking that long. At least they gave you something to drive in the meantime though

2 or 3 failures documented on a forum does not necessitate a trend.

The rental car was for the 1 day. I had to turn in the rental. I'm driving my truck till the part is available.
