As long as you're not in a hurry to get there it's all good. You'll get there eventually.

Yep it's for prius drivers who want a truck.

Same here, I park in an outdoor ramp for 12 hours a day and did not want to risk it.

I just want Ford to conduct real world testing and report back on the true mpg.

Not what hwy mpg is running 45mph on a flat desert road in a stripped down f150.

Or how quick they can tow running up a grade with the pedal pegged to the floor. Does anyone know what speed and mpg the Ford and Ram were getting while doing this? And what is the speed limit on a road like that anyway?

They won't because they don't want the commoner knowing that it gets about the same mileage as the 5.0 under all conditions except towing.

Thank you Bogeyfree31, well said. Just shoot us straight on the mpg numbers. And I get all the talk about towing, but can't a guy who does travel baseball and AAU basketball with his kid still love to drive a truck? The heaviest thing I pull is a mower for service once in a while. I'm not a speed demon and I can't remember the last time I saw 20 mpg in my EcoBoost. Don't get me wrong I'm a Ford guy, I'm just a little disappointed in the gas mileage.

I don't think you've towed much on the open road. When you have 8-10k lbs or more it's far different than a small bass boat. If you have to get in to a highway with a short ramp and an incline, you absolutely want the power. Or pulling into a headwind up a long medium grade on a an interstate. Or having an opening to pass a slow vehicle that you will be stuck behind for miles upon miles unless you have the power to pass with a load. These are all thing someone who tows a real load wants and a pulling test up a long steep grade shows this power for when needed or wanted. Trust me when you want that power you don't give your mothers left tit if your mpg drops for a mile or two.

Well, most of us want better gas mileage, who doesn't?

But you have to go with the limitations of what is in the marketplace right now.

Today, the Ram diesel has the highest mileage rating in 1/2 ton trucks. But is it the most economical 1/2 ton?

Decide for yourself.

Look how close the 2.7 is to the average vehicle. $150 more in annual fuel costs? To me, that is amazing for a truck.

If those EPA numbers were only true. I've seen 4 real life reviews and the truck did not get 26 hwy, 22 combined. More like 23 highway(50-55mph) and 18 mixed.
