Default Dim LED Display

All of a sudden, I've noticed that the information display that contains the odometer, MPG, etc seems to be very dim during daylight. I realize that this display dims with the headlights but I seem to recall it being brighter during daylight with lights off when the truck was new. If I turn the lights on during daylight, this display practically disappears. Does anyone else have a similar experience with this display?

I am sorry for the condescending question, but since you still have a change in the display when the lights are turned on, have you checked the rheostat for the dash lights to make sure it didnt get bumped?

Yes. That was the first thing I checked. The reostat is in the brightest (hihgest current) position. When I turn on the lights, the display becomes even less bright. Also I tested the reostat by turning on the lights and it does regulate the current but only when the lights are on.

Where is the best source for a wiring diagram for this truck?
