Diff swap and changing gears
I have a 2001 SCAB 4.6 2WD running 285/75R16 (32.8") with 8.8 / 3.08 open diff, yeah a real turd!
But I finally found a shop over here that can redo my rear end, since this is much too involved for a weekend mechanic like myself.
For the gears I finally decided to go with 4.10 because it's my dailydriver and the commute is mainly highway.
But what brand should I choose for ring & ring & pinion?
Motive
Yukon
Ford Racing
For the diff I decided to go with a Eaton Truetrac 913A561 or should I pick different brand/type?
Thanks guys!

Second the Yukon gears. Ask them if they use a clamshell puller, if they give you the deer in headlights look, find another shop. A true rear end shop will know what those are.

Well the truck is considered a import over here in Germany, so it's not that easy to find a shop anyhow. But I got a really good feeling and couple of friends recommended the shop...
Why Yukon?
Why Yukon?

Yukon makes good gears, and has a good reputation. I used them when I regeared my F350 Dually and they were solid. Their kit came with everything I needed to rebuild both axles, and they were quiet.

Got here back this week. The shop went with Yukon for ring/pinion because motive pro was on backorder. The master kit is also from Yukon.
I'm taking it slow for the first 500 miles, staying below 60 and 2500rpms - but I can already tell it feels really good, like no more torture. It seems that now she is in the right gear all the time. Really hard to wait until I can floor her
