Deployed Ft Hood soldier desperatly needs help!
Hello everyone,
Currently I'm in Iraq, and my wife is having some serious problems with our truck back home. It is her only means of transportation with the kids, and we are near flat broke. Definately to broke to take it to a stealership... Would anyone local be willing to come over and take a look, I believe it to be a fairly simple problem. First of all, I'm in Gatesville, which is just to the north of Hood, and a bit west of Waco. The truck is driving very sluggishly, and throwing a code p0304, failure to fire on cylinder 4. From what I have read this means its either a spark plug, wire, coil, boot, or injector. My wife really doesn't know the first thing about fixing vehicles, and is terrified from reading online that she will break a spark plug off if she tried to fix this herself. Im offering a good home cooked lunch, and a case of the beer of your choice! I know its not much, but if anyone would be willing please give me an email or pm.

Not anywhere near the area, so not much I can do directly, but have your wife contact your Unit's Family Support Group leader, who has a hot list of who to call for what emergencies. Among those agencies will probably be AER, Army Emergency Relief. They can give you a grant or low (very low) interest loan to help out.
If I was anywhere near Tx. I'd drive down and help, but it's a bit of a trek from NY.

Lemme see if I can fenagle a couple of days off this week. I am on duty all week and weekend so I unfortunately can't promise anything unless I can find someone to cover for me.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! Lenn, of course I understand duty schedules. I thank you for even considering my request; how far is Port Arthur anyways?

Its about 275mi from Waco. IDK how far from your exact location.
EDIT- I will move this to the General section. It will get much more exposure there. I also know that there is at least one or two other members here from Waco.

My brother lives in Killeen (which is obviously connected to Ft. Hood to the east). He also knows a lot of folks in Gatesville and the surrounding areas. He's not much of a mechanic but he knows a lot of guys there in and around the Hood. I'll ask him if he knows anyone who might be able to help out...
