Question Is a crank sensor a part swap or does it need adjusted?

When installing a crank position sensor on a 1996 F150 5.0 , can I just bolt on the new one or does it need to be a certain distance from the ring?
I noticed one mount hole is elongated which made me wonder if it needs adjusted when installing.
I appreciate any and all help.

Default Fixed

this was an easy install. The sensor has no adjustment. It made sense once I saw the new part.
