sync is free, but sirius or sirius with travel link costs money. Currently my sirius with travel link is still free but i have two other satellite radios and pay 13 a month for one and 7 a month for the other. Ive heard people say theyve got it for 77$ a year for just one radio though without travel link, but you have to jump through some hoops and act like youre not gonna renew for a while.

The manual says SYNC is only free for 36 months. After that, it is "available for a fee".

SYNC will always be free, it's not like on star for CHEV or GMC because SYNC goes through your cell phone which you are already paying for.

thats like saying your heater will only work for 3 years unless you pay extra. Sync is part of the vehicle, its only the extras like sirius and travel link that you have to pay for. Looks like sync travel and directions is what the manual is referring too.

yea, thats only the traffic and directions part though, the basic sync system that you use to play music is 100 percent free and always will be.
