A/C Recharge Point
So I got a can of A/C recharge but I'm having trouble with locating the point. I've only found 1 place where the hose might would hook up but it doesn't fit. When I try to attach it, the clamp won't attach to the point. Is it possible that the attachment on the recharge can has to be a special attachment just for Fords? It worked fine on my Honda which needed to be recharged but I still have a lot in the can and wanted to see if the F-150 could take any.

the low and high side are almost right beside each other. Its the fatter tube (the one that gets cold).

I found the one that is getting cold because it has moisture on it but I haven't found the recharge point on it. It's near the back on the passenger side and the place where I found a point at is near the washer fluid reservoir. That's the one that the clamp isn't attaching itself to.

FWIW.
Newer vehicles have different size refrigerant access ports, it was not always that way. The change to different sizes came about because amateur mechanics mistakenly hooked up the little 12 oz. cans to the high pressure ports, and turned that can into a bomb. No kidding.
On older vehicles, be absolutely sure that you are connecting to the low pressure port, or you will be very sorry.

A CAN OF FREON WILL EXPLODE IF ACCIDENTALLY CONNECTED TO THE HIGH SIDE OF A RUNNING SYSTEM BECAUSE YOU WILL BE PUMPING FREON INTO THE CAN INSTEAD OF EMPTYING IT. THIS WILL CAUSE IT TO RUPTURE AND VIOLENTLY EXPLODE. DO NOT GUESS. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE BRING IT TO A PROFESSIONAL!!!

I'm sure I found the correct port as the low port. I searched several pictures with detail illistration for the possibility that it would be located then went back outside to the truck and looked again to see if I can find it and sure enough it was where one of the pictures showed it would be. I'm not tall enough and my arms aren't long enough to reach the port because it's location is on the back passanger side so I had my husband to do it for me. After he finished the recharge on the F-150 there was still a little left in the can so he finished off on his Dodge Dakota. Thanks

Do you have a picture of where this is located? I am trying to do the same on my truck with A/C recharging. My truck is a 2008 Ford F-150 FX4. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
