2011 f150 lariat: I have a clicking noise coming from under dash when a/c is on, could this be the blend door ?

When my blend door started going out it clicked like you describe. When it finally gave up, I had heat coming out the passenger side and A/C out the drivers side. I think it was about 350.00 bucks at the dealer to have it repaired.

Swing by your dealership, 2011RBLariat; they'll be happy to diagnose your truck. Touch base with us when you have a verdict and feel free to PM me if you have any other concerns.

Concur with the others - sounds like the blend door. The clicking on mine would go away if I turned the temperature dial a little warmer.

WHen it starts clicking I turn it off and turn it back on and it stops clicking, I know it will go out. I would like to have it fixed, has anyone tried to fix this issue? If so can someone let me know where to start? This is the second time this has happen the first time it was under warranty.

I was told today there was a $135 diagnostic fee to determine which blend door is out.....my warranty is out if that matters? My popping noise comes from turning on the AC. Does anyone know if that's the upper or lower?

Scozz, will the dealer drop the fee if you have the truck repaired there? I sure would ask. I can't understand a dealer charging to tell you what's wrong, and then charge full price to fix the problem. These guys have a ton of imaginative ways to make money.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum.
I am sure they will, but I was never told ahead of time, so it kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I spoke to my mechanic friend yesterday and he said he would help me do it. I know this will be a ton of work, but why not if I can learn and save some cash? I have not seen any "How to" on this, or any other forum, so I'll be sure to do so and post it up. This is probably bc they go out under warranty and covered by Ford's extended warranty. I purchased my truck elsewhere bc I had to have white and my extended warranty (CNA) does not cover this.

***This will not happen until probably the end of March, because he is a traveling airline maintenance inspector and will not be back until then (except for a few days here-and-there but I do not want to take those away from his family).

@Scozz, do a search in the "2009 - Present F-150". I think I saw a step by step thread a week or so ago there. I know I saw it somewhere here, and it also has pictures. Also, you might try You Tube. Good luck.
