try pulling the fuse for the radio.. wait a few seconds and put back in. happened too a buddy of mine. radio wouldn't work either. pulling fuse might reset radio.

I have this same problem on my 06 Lariat, I just posted the question two days ago, check out the responses in the 2004 - 2008 Ford F150 postings.
One fellow suggested banging on top of the dash while pushing the eject button. That didn't work, tried it this morning.
A later posting was along the same lines as the fuse puller. It was suggested to remove the face of the radio, and unplug then replug. Pulling the fuse seems a lot easier, I'll give it a try.
If you find a fixer let me know.

Had one in my 98 when i got it. Yanked it out. Unsure why it would be seen as difficult to eject a cd and just insert another. Had one in my old Acura too and never used it.

6 disk changer inoperative/error message
My F150 Lariat 6 disk changer gave error messages, continuously cycled the device, and only the radio would work. I prepared for the worst, expecting that it would need replacement. That is until I read this post and tried the fuse pulling trick suggested by kb8rhu. I was so elated that the fix was that simple.
Imagine what a gravy job that would have been for a dealership. That would have been a 1000% profit repair, not the regular 300% they usually get.
So, many thanks to all who offered other suggestions as well. As happens so many times in life, the solution to most problems are usually very simple.!!!!!!!GO F150 FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish mine was as easy as pulling the fuse out and plugging it back in. My cd player has been showing "eject error" on the display every time I try to eject a cd for the past year now. I've tried everything suggested here - pulling the fuse and hitting it - and I've even tried taking it apart (pulled off the faceplate and took the top out), but had no idea what I should be looking for, so put it back together before I ruined it completely. ha ha. So if anyone else has some type of miracle fix I would love to hear it
