Alright guys, I bought a used 15 XLT in Winnipeg recently, and was charged GST and PST. This is my 2nd Canadian truck. My other Canadian buy had GST and PST waived, but these guys said it had to be paid on the spot. It was a great deal, so I went ahead and bought it and got her home, assured by the dealer I could get a refund. I'm having a hard time finding the process or paperwork to make this happen though. Has anyone been through this process before and can point me in the right direction? Any help would be appreciated!

Not 100% sure but I believe the program the rebated GST was replaced in 2007. The following link may help. Assurances from most car dealers aren't worth much.

You may need to get the truck shipped for export as a way to skip the taxes but not certain.

What kinds of fees/taxes are on top of the purchase price getting a vehicle here from up north? I've tried to google before, but always tough to feel I find the right info.
