Since we are spending your money, why stop at a 3 car garage. Just kidding, unless you do a lot of wrench turning a 2 car garage works fine. It sounds like you are going in the right direction with the 24 X 24. The more space you have, the more junk you accumulate. If you need more than 1 shed, you have too much junk. You will see what I mean when you move from your present location to the new one.

It's so much easier to spend someone else's money I would have to agree with your notion about having more than one shed...don't do a ton of wrench turning, just my own maintenance really

I would do 8' tall doors. My current garage is 36' wide and 24' deep. My next one will be 48' wide and 36 deep. But here in MN, we put everything in garages.

If only going 2 stalls, you said you had a shop, then 26 wide with a 8x18 door, or two 8 x 10 singles, with 26 deep will be fine.

My dad and I built a 32X48 shed with 2-10X10 doors.

If you plan on finishing the inside, forget sheetrock and use OSB. It is so much nicer.

Father-in-law in AZ has a 5 (single for MILs DD). 2 doubles for his cars, one is double depth for workshop. Then an RV garage with a lift.

The garage has more square footage than the house.

Which is my dream. Small loft above a massive workshop.

If you can go big, GO BIG.

I have a 3 car standard door size.

Lariat SuperCrew in the single bay but have to have door up to get around the back.
Edge Sport has plenty of room as well as the Ultra Limited.

It has a half bay along the entry side to to the house which accommodates the tool box, workbench, yard equipment and other BS.

It also has a 3' band across the width which is shelved with knock downs for other storage.
I could get another Bike in the if needed, or put Harley between Edge & F150 and put another car in the other bay if needed but it would be packed.

GO BIG IN ALL DIRECTIONS. Especially if you are going to be there for a good while.

Good luck with your build.

I've built quite a few houses and 4 of my own. If you have room go 26' deep at a minimum and ALWAYS 10' wide doors and 8' high is nice but that will require high ceilings for door clearance. I didn't have room on the last site, but I would have liked a 3 car set up. I did make it an oversized 2 car.

If you're building the house, put all 3' doors inside too. My wife ended up in a wheel chair for a while in a previous house due to an accident and the 32" got some dings. Never know when it could happen to any of us. Getting old has happened to a few people too.....

My vehicles sat in the driveway out in the elements for many years. Finally about 8 years ago I built a 40'x30' garage with 8' doors. No matter how big you go you will never have enough room.
