Brake vac pump

Brake vac pump
I have a F150 Eco Boost 2011
Just had SECOND Brake Vac Pump replaced. apparently they are "chronic" to all 2011 and 2012. Ford "reengineered" the pump for 2013 and newer to solve the problem.
When this pump fails you have NO BRAKES at start up - ie start vehicle shift into gear and there are no brakes until you accelerate for a bit. Makes parking lots very dangerous.
Ford is aware of this CHRONIC SAFETY ISSUE and yet continues to ignore it - THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE.
I guess someone will have to be killed in order for Ford to address this very dangerous safety issue on all the affected F150's

just figured if enough FORD F150 Users bitch to their dealer about paying for Brake Vac pumps every 25000 miles , maybe Ford would do a recall and prevent any futuer accidents caused by this No Brakes issue

mk99 is right, complaining here isn't going to do anything. If you live in the United States, you can go to Safercar.gov and file a complaint with the agency that will get on the manufacturers case. If enough people file a complaint about the same thing, something will be done. Here is the link to file the complaint. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSafetyIssues George

But that's not as much fun as bitching! lol
I share the concern - my '12 that I bought last year had a bad pump off of the lot. I went to scoot it forward in my garage and put a spot on the front seat when I had to stand on the pedal to keep from making a new "door" on the other side of my garage.
