Default Bought a 2015 F-150 - Can I Cancel My ESP?

So hello all, just picked up a beautiful new 2015 Ford F-150 XLT tonight from a dealership a friend works at. Good deal on the truck.

Went to finance office, very nice person. Asked me if I wanted a service plan, I asked for some numbers on it. She gave me pricing on a 7 year/100k plan, which was $500 less than a 3rd party warranty carrier had quoted me. So I decided to buy it. She said she had marked it low already for me.

I paid $2,595

Is that a high amount? Can I cancel this and buy it elsewhere? I did ask her if I could add the ESP on later and she said she had to sell it to me right then. I'm learning now, that may not have been true since I can go on fords own website and request a quote.

Let me know if you think ESP price was fair or rip-off... what did you pay?

If it is a Ford ESP yes you can cancel if there are no claims and yes you can buy it later.
You have 3 years or 36,000 miles to buy Ford's factory ESP. without a penalty.
If you bought an after mkt. plan good luck most aren't worth the paper there written on.

I did buy the Ford ESP. When she asked if I wanted pricing I said "you can quote it but I'll probably just buy it later" and she said "I have to sell it now" - typical

So this is from Anderson and Koch ford online where I bought mine. The state is WI for a 2015 w/500 miles and 100$ deductible. It is about 1/2 what you paid.

Bought mine from here, 125K, 5 years, approx 870.00, extra care, 200.00 deductible. Yep they tried to do that to me, told me I had to have it now, said no and shopped around

Whats your deductible, does it include car rental? Either way it looks a little high!

Yeah I'll call them in a few hours, cancel it. When she asks why I'm going to tell her that she told me I could not buy it later when in fact I can and she is twice the price of others. I'm sure she'll offer to match it, which I'll take if she matches. If she does not match I'll buy it elsewhere

That's where and when they make their commissions: finance and extras like warranties.

I was tricked by the finance guy, that I MUST purchase the ESP.

After some research I realised I basically threw extra money away.

I went to go get a refund and was told "you can't do that sorry"

Unfortunately for him I had already called Ford Canada and asked, and yes I could!

He was very upset that I had called Ford Canada, which only made me more angry, he made it as difficult as possible to cancel it, had me come in multiple times and then instead of putting it on top of the loan he had it cover payments for the next several months. Which I had to fix on my own because he was incompetent.

So if you're ever in Surrey and looking for a truck STAY AWAY from Ford Dams Surrey (now known as MAINLAND FORD)

They employ liars!!!
