Ya, it did. I called Stage 3 on the phone, and the $879 was a firm price. It's an honest price, so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I ordered the "S" type exhaust. Like I mentioned, I don't mind paying for quality, and that includes service as well. I'd rather spend a few bucks more, and not have problems like I've experienced before with an Ebay seller. Just isn't worth the hassle.
Found out that Borla does not offer the "S" type muffler anymore. What you get is the Attak muffler, and a resonator. The guy offered up, that if the muffler/resonator combination is too mild, just remove the resonator, and you have the Attak system. That also gives me the option of "fine tuning" it to my liking, using different length resonators, until I get it just right, if I have to.
For others reading this, the system is all 3", ahead of the muffler, then the tailpipes are 2.25". Just about right from what I've read on our 5.0's.
The tips are also round, rolled lip, slash cut, and 4".
Hey, NO ONE tell my wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

I have a Borla XR-1 (#40085) welded in place of the stock muffler on my 5.0 with a Gibson 4 inch tip. Stock resonator is still in place. Total cost was $120 for muffler from Jegs, $70 for the tip from Amazon, and $50 for the shop to install the muffler.

I guess I can only answer these questions,

1. No drone. Produces a nice little rumble/sound at 1500-2000rpms so you know its still there.
2. Yes. When my truck downshifts, you can hear it. You can hear it sitting at idle too. A lot of times I lockout gears to downshift/engine brake when coming to stop and I love hearing it when it does it.

If you want I can get you an interior video of a little around town driving. Or if you want any more detailed descriptions about certain things, I can answer those too.
Truck looks sweet and sounds sweet too... How much louder than stock is that setup?

Unfortunately nobody budges on Borla prices. I got my Solo system for ~$700 and Stage3 preferred it over the Borla Atak.

I too never told my wife how much it cost. :P

That seems expensive. I know a few guys that own their own exhaust shops and they charge about $250 for a cat back system. Is that system with new high flow cats?

Their systems are likely made of aluminized steel as far as materials go if they sell them that cheap. Those can rust out in as little as a few years depending upon driving conditions. http://www.exhaustvideos.com/faq/sta...xhaust-system/

Also, the big name brands are far less susceptible to drone. The common/cheap Flowmaster parts/systems are notorious for cab drone.

From the inside I'd say its mildly louder. Can't tell you from the outside because I have yet to stand outside of it while someone takes off in it.

I suppose I live in az. Don't have to worry about rust here. I've had my buddy do a few of my vehicles and they all turned out really well. He knows what he is doing.

The shop near me could only do aluminized. Didn't have access to the stainless steel/lack of proper equipment to bend them or something like that.

Their quotes were the same if not higher than brand name systems anyway.

No cats, just cat back.
I could have gotten a system built for 2-250 bucks. But, and it's a big but, Aluminized steel, no mandrel bends, no warranty, I saw the bends that guy did, no thanks. A lot lower quality than I'm willing to accept.
You're almost always going to pay for quality, and as said, I will.
I'm ridding myself of what I consider a cobbled together mess. When I was much younger, I'd sometimes accept substandard quality. But as I got older, it dawned on me, do it right, do it once. I follow that thought now in pretty much everything I try, that is, except the system I'm replacing. I must have had a weak moment.LOL

Checked my email, system is supposed to be here tomorrow!!!! Hopefully I can get it on the truck Saturday.
