Default Body lift vs. Suspension lift

What even is a body lift? What does it do compared to a Suspension lift?

a body lift simply raises the body off the frame allowing for my room for tires and giving it a lifted appearance, besides the ground clearance gained from the larger tires it allows for you gain no ground clearance under the frame. a suspension lift lifts the entire vehicle using modified suspension components and brackets which also allows for the use of larger tires but also gains you more frame ground clearance which is important for offroad use. some suspension lift kits also enhance the ride of the vehicle using better shocks and sometimes more suspension travel.

^^yeah what he said, a body lift is just a pack of blocks to raise the body off the frame. a suspension lift is a way better option, and it will be a lot easier to install than a body lift

The body lift vs. Suspension lift is a highly debated topic but depending on the reason for wanting a lift a body lift could be better or vise versa. If you just want to raise the truck to fit larger tires for looks and don't really use it off road than a body lift might be a better option and a lot cheaper one as well. If the truck will be used off road a lot and you can benifit from more ground clearance and performance than a suspension lift might be the way to go. It all depends

Thanks for the quick and detailed reply guys! I want to put anywhere from a 2-4 inch lift on my baby

EDIT: If the suspension lift is easier I would rather go with that...You can still fit bigger tires if you get a suspension lift right?

Thats right buddy, but if you want more than 3in than go with suspension, with a body lift you can start seeing the frame under the body and it all looks like crap IMO

^^x2

just remember that a suspension lift will be a lot more expensive than a body lift, but If you can afford it, a suspension lift is much better than a body lift
