Default Black or Tri Metallic White?

I'm laboring over my upcoming 2017 Limited purchase. I've pretty much ruled out all the other colors except these two. I've been driving an 07 with metallic sand for the last 9 years. It's a beautiful color but I want something different. To me the white is too white and not enough metallic.

I'm thinking I'd like more reflective properties of the black but am concerned about the maintenance involved. I enjoy cleaning and waxing but have never maintained black. Is it really that difficult? White and sand colors show dirt easily but without it being a dark color surface contaminates are easily hidden.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I'm a white truck fan myself. My last 3 trucks have been white, only owned 1 black truck. Black looks awesome, when it's clean, which lasts all of an hour or so. Every tiny dust particle, water spot, etc... all shows so easily on black, not to mention how much heat black attracts. I haven't washed my truck in 10 days and it still looks super clean. White may not pop as much as most other colors, but it sure is easy maintenance.

I own several vehicles, including a high end European sports car which is available in silly exotic colour options. I keep going with either Black or White, you cannot go wrong. However, of the two, white is easiest to maintain and shows less dust if a daily driver. Black on Black looks more aggressive, where white is basic. So personal preference.

Bare in mind I'm accustomed to almost a daily dusting with my California duster or spray detailed. I'm just not sure how much more work it would require.

tri-coat means more-costly repairs for scratches

the little touch-up bottles are a real hassle for nicks tri-coat paint

White will show any rail dust and whatever else really well. I would do a simple white over a tricoat myself for the cost reasons mentioned.

I've never had a black vehicle, but a duster on black paint sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. I prefer white. My current and previous truck were both Oxford white.

This is your best answer. All but one of my vehicles in the last 15 years have been white. I will buy white over any other color. I used to be an auto detailer which is why I have never have owned a black vehicle. Black is a great choice if you are not really fussy about how your vehicle looks (because it shows every scratch, door ding and water spot) or if you are at the opposite end of the spectrum and are extremely fussy with a lot of time on your hands for washing, waxing and detailing because they are your life's work.

I do now believe black would drive me crazy. I'm very particular with my truck.

I have the tri metallic white and love it. A bit of metallic and what seems to be a pearlcoat to it. More than pure white.
