best oil for 2005 with 117k miles

Default best oil for 2005 with 117k miles

Just got a 05 f150 5.4 triton. It has 117k miles on it. Looking to do my own oil changes. What's the best oil and filter tp use? Thanks guys!

first off, just make one thread. second, asking what oil is best is like asking someone what food is best. It's all about personal preference. Some people are loyal to brands some couldn't care less. some you motorcraft, some use some walmart knock off, others use mobil 1 or royal purple. same goes for filter.
Personally, I run mobil 1 full synthetic in all my cars (except my aveo) and K&N filters for the simple fact they have a nut on them which makes remove so much easier.

Motorcraft 5w20 semi-syn oil, and Motocraft filter.

I use full synthetic Mobil 1 5w30.
To me using semi synthetic is like using a condom you poked full of holes.

Dont use synthetic blend? Tell my trouble free 175K Superduty and 150K Focus that. Never a single engine issue from either. Instead of telling me what "not" to use, how about a useful post and give the OP your opinion.
