Are bed toppers ONLY for older folks???

I had a topper way back when my kids were young, took out the back glass of truck and camper shell and used an accordion boot to close the gap so the bed area would also be climate controlled. Both of my kids are grown and have their own kids now and I have no use for a topper any more.
So I guess I'm just the opposite.

I would put one on mine but i've got a BakFlip F1 for now. Reason being is I do have the odd thing that would be taller or longer. But really these are easy to take off. Unclamp sides, one person lifts front, other lifts back. Done.
I have a BedRug so a SnugTop XTR plus a bedrug would be a great combo. The topper is great as its completely sealed and weatherproof, easy to make it illuminated, extra security, still has tons of volume and can make the truck look better in some cases.
Where is Desert Dawg??
Lol here's his truck as if most of you havent seen this beast already
The fit and finish on that thing looks A+
Also Im 19.

I had a cap on my Ranger back in the day. I could store my mountain bike in there, and keep my tools in a tote with worry of theft. It was aluminum so not super hard to take off if I needed to move something that wouldn't fit. I also camped in it a couple times. (this girl is not sleeping on the ground!) It was also nice for hulling things that wouldn't fit a car on a rainy/snowy day. That Ranger was was my first vehicle, so i would have been in my teens when we got it, and I had it into my 30's! I miss that little truck! (and yes you may insert your lesbian pickup truck joke here)

When I was growing up I used to think camper shells were only for older people or work trucks. Now I think they are for any age or application as long as it suits your needs, wants or desires. I just had my first camper shell installed about 4 months ago and really like it. Being a family man now and using this vehicle for vacations and road trips it was a pretty obvious choice to remove the rollup cover and add the topper. BTW, Desert Dawgs truck is awesome, as all of his previous trucks have been, and the look I am after.

If I wanted a topper, I'd just have bought an Expedition.

Difference between the Expy and a canopy truck is that you still have the option of isolating your load. I don't want my manure covered shoes in the vehicle with me, nor do I want my very sandy camping equipment in there with me. You can still treat it as a truck, just with a taller tonneau. Plus lifted expys just don't look as good as lifted f150's!
