Back In The Day...
Back In the day ....a lot of folks would get their car or truck Zebart'ed or Rusty Jones or some other undercoating rust sealer protectant. I was in Quebec a few months ago and see a Zebart garage up there. But haven't seen one here in the east in many years. Have advancements in the painting process put theses companys out of business ?

Zeibart still exists. But there a lot of DIY alternatives which I suspect are more popular. I think they quoted me $500ish to do my truck, which I didn't think was too bad.

Ziebart would drill to get the spray nozzle into cavities. It usually rotted first around where they drilled holes. Second it would rot around the vent hole low points they plugged with the nasty goo they sprayed into panels. You missed one inspection date they would void any warranty. No wonder they didn't make it past the 90's. Rust through warranty from most manufacturers now exceeds anything they did or longer than most keep their cars. I just sold my Honda with 100k miles, zero rust on it and it was a year round commuter in the Chicago winters, i.e. plenty of salt exposure.

I used the Krown process to rust proof a 2012 supercab.
They still drill the holes and use wands to apply the product to the interior panels. Unlike Ziebart however, it is not so much a solid barrier that is applied and then dries but instead more of a mist that fogs the internal area and seeps into the crevices. It continues to migrate and weep out of the drain holes and must be applied yearly. The bottom of the truck was then broadcast sprayed except for the exhaust system. It cost me about $140 and took about an hour and half for the application which included a post wash.
The company is Canadian.
