Unbelievable: your Ph.D thesis is vehicle selection under a variety of cultures?
This is the new knowledge you hope to bring to the human race?
Have any auto OEMs expressed an interest in your work?
The most useless Ph.D thesis I've heard was a woman I met who was studying the dating habits of people that frequent nightclubs. I bet she is unemployed or teaching since nobody else would hire her.

Dissertation help
Interesting responses! Just a few clarifications. First, I am a "she." Second, I am an old graduate student, hence the user name "OLDPHD." I am a native Detroiter, and in my past life, wrote car commercials for Buick and GMC truck. I am pursuing a PhD because it allows me to research and publish on a topic that is of particular importance to me.

Sound's rather interesting to me. I can think of at least 3 members that would likely be interested in participating. I will PM them a link to this thread.
Maybe you could share the results here sometime in the future. I know I'm not to only one that would be interested in it.

I apologize for some of the responses in here. Makes me kind of sad actually.

Yikes guys, the man's getting an education and was completely courteous in asking for help. Why go bashing his goal of a PHD or intention to study stereotypes and gender role within American culture?
Don't see the value in it? That's your opinion, and a very misinformed one at that. There was not near enough information given to even begin to pass judgement on what he's doing. Either way, further education is hardly about the specifics and more about the practice. In this case conducting a study.
Good luck.

Well said brother, well said. Could not agree more. Good luck, OP.
