Default Almost busted my ***

The other day after a good downpour when I was getting into my truck I about busted my *** in front of a lot of people. (And it's not the first time this is happened, i'm just now fed up with it lol)
I'm sure 99% of us that don't have a grab handle grab a hold of the steering wheel to pull ourselves into these trucks.

The plastic on these runningboards are slippery as hell. They have absolutely zero grip texture to them whatsoever.

I am considering going to Lowes and purchasing one of these http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?...llow&cId=PDIO1 to put in the area on the running board that I'm always stepping on to get some kind of traction.
Anyone else consider this or have done this?

Yep, I have seen pics on here somewhere from someone who has done the same with the grip tape.

I very rarely step on the running boards, never use the grab handle either
Is your truck lifted ?

I removed my running boards first thing on mine when I got it. I hate those things. They are bad to get your pants dirty too when you get out of it if you don't step on them.

Grip tape would probably help. I also moved my running boards about 2" out (extension brackets), it makes them a whole lot more usable and safer too.

I've been putting the grip tape method off for a while now and need to do this. I wear dress shoes for work and if it's raining or dew on the running boards, i'll sometimes slip if i'm not careful.

Where did you get the extension brackets from?
