Man that sounds like an awesome trip. As much as I agree with you taking the ferry next time, I think it wouldn't be the same with out all that beautiful country your driving through. Don't let the gas thing ruin your trip. It's been like that for a few years now. Too many idiots doing gas n' go's.

That incident happened in the Toronto area which is in a completely different province in a higher then normal crime area. Sad that they implemented that country wide. Here in the Toronto area where I am we don't have to pre-pay during the day only between 12:00am - 6:00am.

The restriction on your card is not due you being a "foreigner" the pump network in not tied into US cards. I sometimes have the same problem using Canadian credit cards in the US. A minor hick-up as the other poster said don't let it get you down. At least you don't have to pay our crazy gas prices when you get back home.

From what I've been told they have issues up there near Alaska with people coming into Canada. Stealing gas then going back across the border and getting away with it...

Default My Truck is Fabulous

I am loving my truck more and more every day of this trip. I really thought with the topper, heavier tires, the additional load of 4 people and luggage that the mileage would really drop. But it has been better then before, Could get almost 700 miles on one 36 gallon tank. Comfortable whether you are riding in the front or back. Look to buy a new one when I get back.

Just for giggles idid a map quest from where I live in Louisian to Anchorage, 4450 miles, then it said 3 days 10 hours. I don't think so. I have driven cross country 13 times, best was 4 days. That was when I lived in NY & in service.

Absolutely beautiful country deerhunter. I mean drive for miles without seeing another vehicle, that's my kind of vacationing. Be safe, and keep the pics coming. I will vacation vicariously through you.

jaconn02 You can do it with another good driver. My husband and I use to have an east coast to west coast turn around. We was considered a super team. We ran 5,000 to 7,000 miles per week. Keep them doors close you can get cross the USA in no time.
