AC Blend Door hanging up?

AC Blend Door hanging up?
I have a 2004 F150 Lariat with auto climate control. I have reviewed some of the forums and the symptoms seem to point to a blend door or blend door actuator problem. I just want to confirm this with some of you that have seen more of this issue than I have. Also, it looks like a major job, so again want to be sure before the dash comes out.
Issue:
luke-warm AC when I start driving. Turning to max AC (60 degrees, top fan speed, and recirculate) does not seem to help much. However, if I then turn the temp control up to 90 degrees and force the vents/doors to close for heat....then turn it back to 60/max AC I get really cold air and all is well. So, my assumption is that the blend door or a blend door actuator is not closing unless I force it and that lets very hot Dallas heat into the pickup that the climate control cannot overcome. Does this sound right to you?? Thanks JCJOBE
