About to defect to the dark side!

So right off the bat you're talking $20,000 + $1,000 + costs of maintenance + FX4 rims & tires.
For a truck whose power train is 60,000 miles past it's warranty expiration ??
You do realize a brand new 2014 XLT Supercrew 4x4 can be purchased for ~$28,000 right ??
3 year full warranty also. (Value ~$2500 we'll say) So lets say $25,500 for the truck.
You're looking to spend almost $23,000 for a beat up heavily used truck with no warranty.
Sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture of what you can get for just a teeny bit more. Take another look at the full scope here......even if you need to wait 3 months to come up with another few grand, it's worth it to wait.
To each his own I guess.

$20,000 for a 09' with 93000 miles? plus repairs? Someone mentioned a new for $28,000, not around hear, they are closer to $40,000 for a FX4, but I still wouldn't buy a 6-7 year old truck with over 90k for $20k

Now mind you each truck price will vary with options, but this is a quick find. You gotta verify all the rebates and discounts other members are finding and then call your dealer as educated as you can be. Look nationwide for deals and show those deals to your local dealer to compete. Then add in whatever extra options their truck has to the price.
$27,700 2014 Ford F150 XLT SuperCrew with 5.0L

$28,000 2014 F150 XLT black

Now you will begin to understand why I tell people to avoid brand new model redesigns
the 1st year because they will rape you VS buying the outgoing model year. Depreciation
is your friend, never ever EVER pay MSRP......that's for suckers.
These trucks aren't $50,000 unless you get sucked into that "Competing with the Jones"
mentality and get raped on frivilous options

I agree I could have bought a newer truck with less miles. I kinda have a package deal in my brain. I paid the Avalanche off last summer and was saving for a 2005 Corvette. However, my Anti GM feelings have turned me away from that plan. I needed to be close to $20,000 on a used but lower mile F150. I don't like the metallic black either. I plan to use the money from selling my 2007 Avalanche towards to 2009 F150 so it will be paid off by next summer. Then I can find a 2011 Mustang GT. I have totally went to the darkside now! For me it will be fun getting the F150 in good shape and it is way above my old Avalanche in quality. Thanks for the feedback though

Also, I have been researching F150 FX4's for a few months.
I lost out on a 2009 2 weeks ago.
It had 93,000 miles and had sunroof, leather, navigation etc.. Fully loaded and it sold for $22,999
Another fully loaded FX4 south of Akron was going for $22,900 and it had 111,000 miles.
Both were one owner trucks. It seems these Fully loaded FX4 crew cab's are going for around $22,000 to 23,000 in the Midwest right now. I'm ok with it I guess. It's my first Ford so looking forward to being on the forums.

$22,000.00 sounds a bit high to me for a truck with 93,000 miles.

I would consider buying an F-150 coming over to the Bright-Side. Buying a used vehicle can result in some disappointing experiences if you don't know what to look for and can't access the history of the truck. Not knowing how well a truck has been kept up and seeing a fair amount of damage sometimes can be the tell tale signs of a truck that may not have been taken care of.
