True. But I'm sure if we did a study, those that complain there trucks won't drive over 100 mph would fall in a higher risk category for a whole bunch of things, including more likely to have things not end well at that speed.

Go onto the 97-03 engine builders talk thread and talk to the guys we have on there like ibd, they know more on these motors than anyone else should ever need to know. I think I know what needs to be done to my motor to make good reliable power. It doesn't take that as much as you're thinking it'll take. In all honesty.

You can't prove that..
The guys I know who would complain about that kind of thing are the ones with tuner cars who always go to tracks and closed course events

Mine will definitely reach 100 mph. I assumed that those that do not have been reset by someone. I have not tried to take it to the limit

All I can say is it's a truck. How fast do you need to go in one?

I think I've had my truck up to around 90...once
Everyone was doing 85+, I was just passing someone to get back onto the "slow" lane
Stock truck/suspension, can't say I've ever really wanted to see what it could do

There are old inactive airports where car clubs hold events. There are old Air Force bases most runways have been blocked with trenches & berms. There are unused "corporate" sites. Mississippi, a section of paved road had been abandoned. Locals from Ms and La would meet to race. LEO shut it down only when the racing spilled over into local town

I think you have mistaken my complaint. It's not like I am out ripping around recklessly and barreling down the highway with my speedo buried. However, if I ever need or want to utilize my trucks full capabilities, I certainly should be able to do so. I find it unsettling that, like so many other things, the powers at be find it their duty to put limitations and regulations on my property to keep me safe.

FYI,,,,

There is an old administrators note that bans using this forum for the promotion of illegal street racing. I'm sure no one is promoting through this forum .... just thought you might be interested
