5.4 knocking sound when warm
Just bought an 04 f150 80,000 miles. When it's warm it makes an odd knocking noise. Not like a rod knock though. I've read some forums saying this is normal but I just want to make sure. My wife's uncle says it sounds like when it knocks it sounds like it's misfiring at the same time. Maybe a dirty injector or bad coil?

Do a search in the 04-08 section of the forum for "cam phasers." There will be tons of posts, with tons of information. You can literally read these posts for weeks, and still not get to them all.
