5.4 hesitation
I purchased this truck with 135,000 miles on it. I changed all the fluids, new wires/ plugs two oxygen sensors and I still have a hesitation when I touch the throttle! Two different garages could not find the problem. It is ok cold but when the motor warms is when it happens. anyone have this problem?

what year is the truck? and is always hesitant or just when you floor it, my 4.6 tends to lag if i floor it right off the bat. if thats not the case, try checking the fuel injector, or fuel filter, it may just be lagging gas and its not compressing right. or check the air filter, if its dirty it may be choking for air, i just replaced my dirty filter and my trucks running a lot better.

I Changed all of that! Also as I stated,oxygen sensors,plugs/wires and two garages could not find the problem. It is a hesitation from a dead start.I try to just touch the throttle and it seems to just want to stall than it takes off! all in a matter of a second. This just kills me!What kind of fuel miles is normal? thanks Buddy

I'm not sure if this is right or not, but alot of the newer vehicles use a drive by wire type of throttle. This tends to make it hesitate since theres no actual throttle cable.

May be a bad spot in the TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor).
They work like a volume control on a radio. When you press
the gas peddle it begins to turn the control like you're
turning the volume up on a radio. If there is a bad spot on
the control it will give the systems computer and bad reading.
It REALLY isn't a "Sensor" at all. It doesn't SENCE anything.
It SENDS a voltage (very low) to the systems computer. The
more you depress the peddle the higher the voltage reading
to the computer.
They are very easy to replace but don't buy it from your
stealership. They will empty your wallet. I have never paid
over 30 bux for one and that was from a NAPA dealer.
It is also hard to test one with a ohm meter. It's had to find
the *bad* spot. With 135,000 miles on the truck I'd just go
ahead and replace it.
