Default 5.0 vs the twin turbo 6

Hi guys.....old rmember coming back to the fold. I'm currently in a 2012 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X but really looking to get another F150 after having my 2002 for 8 years. The Nissan is nice...but I'm jonesing for a Ford again.

Anyway, I wanted to get some opinions about whether or not to get the 5.0 or the turbo 6. I dont tow and work from home so I dont drive that much except for around town. The Nissan gets only about 15mpg so I'm not to worried about mileage.

I'm looking at an FX4 with the 5.0 on a local dealers lot.

Pros/cons of each?

Thanks.

well it's a good thing you came back, because nobody asked that question before

there are about 6,500 threads about that, with fan boys on either side, some who are worried about the turbos reliability for whatever reason, some who think the 5.0 is a 40-y-o design just because it shares its displacement with the old 302 so it's more "proven", and those people who would just say "they're both great engines, buy what you want".

Mileage is the same, power delivery is a little different, engine sound is the main difference.

Save yourself from searching. @ecopat just gave you the only answer that will count when it's all said, and done. If the truck your looking at is just what you want, jump on it and don't look back. It's a Ford.
