Question 4wd engagement issue
'04 with 4wd shift lever on floor. 4x4 dash light comes on, front drive shaft locks but the hubs won't engage. Had a couple mechanics tell me there is a spring in the hub somewhere that is broken. Can anyone verify this and if true, what is this part called so i know what to tell the parts guy. Any help would be appreciated...!!!

It would be the normal thing to break, I have replaced mine countless times, get the whole hub.

If you touch the hub is it warm?

I have never touched the hub to find out. Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try.
