292 HP, comes with the 6-sp auto tranny, better gas mileage, depending on the body style 9500 lb towing capacity, and they have been using the 3-valve in a lot of other vehicles since 05 timeframe. From Wikipedia:
3-valve

4.6 L 3-valve SOHC V8 installed in a 2006 Ford Mustang GT

The 3-valve SOHC 4.6 L with variable camshaft timing (VCT) first appeared in the redesigned 2005 Ford Mustang.
The engines are equipped with an electronic Charge Motion Control Valve (CMCV) system that provides increased charge motion at low engine speeds for improved emissions and low-rpm torque. Cylinder block material varies between aluminum used in the 2005+ Mustang GT and cast iron used in the 2006+ Ford Explorer and the 2007+ Ford Explorer Sport Trac (see below), though the same aluminum heads are used in all applications.
The 3-valve SOHC 4.6 L engine was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2005–2008.
Vehicles equipped with the 24-valve SOHC VCT 4.6 L include the following:

Yep, I have a friend and a neighbor both with Dodge and the fuel mileage they get is sickening. Both have told me 10mpg. They ask how much are you getting and I tell them a steady 17mpg (I only drive 18 miles to work part town part hway).
I had '04 & '07 super crews with 5.4 and now '10 super cab with 4.6 3v.
I have not seen any real difference in gas mileage so far. Really like my '10 and the H.P. of the 4.6 is only like 10 less from the older 5.4..

Not to mention I would not buy a dodge or chevy after the Govn't (tax payer)
bailout.

I AGREE WITH NOT WANTING OR WILLING TO BUY A DODGE TRUCK,
I HAVE HAD TREIBLE LUCK WITH CRYSLER PRODUCTS.
I DISAGREE WITH THE CHEVY COMMENT. CHEVY HAS BEEN ONE OF THE LONGEST LASTING TRUCKS ALONG WITH FORD. AT LEAST HE'S BUYING AMERICAN. IF FORD DID NOT GET THEIR LOAN JUST BEFORE THIS WALL STREET DOWN FALL, THEY WOULD ALSO HAVE THEIR HANDS OUT FOR HELP. DON'T TAKE ME WRONG, I LIKE FORD BUT ALSO LIKE CHEVY PRODUCTS. I OWN BOTH FORD AND CHEVY! PS. GM HAS ALREADY PAID BACK THEIR LOAN.
