Default 4.6 start up

Is anyone else experiencing a high rev to 2000RPM at start up??? This can't be good regardless what Ford or the Techs say. At start up, you have the least lubrication happening, most wear is at start up. Is this one of Fords better ideas??? I'm think it's a TPS going bad at only 225 mi.

I think mine goes to 1800, 5.4liter. If backs off shortly after it revs up then it sounds like it's doing what it's programmed to do. You can ask your dealer but it sounds like it's ok.

Mine revs around that area, not sure but it is definetely high, then it backs down to idle after about 10-15 seconds.

Yes, that's what it does, revs to between 18 to 2000 R's. Must be normal but doesn't make it right. As I've stated before, I've been away from Ford for a few years and there has been a lot of changes, like the assist braking. Feels weird to have the brake pedal feel like it bleeds down when at a stop sign.

A high idle feature would be a nice option, especially in winter. I Have this feature on my diesel Ram, activated by the cruise control. Initial set is 1100 RPM and you can bump it up i increments to 1500. Great for cold days to aid warm up and cab heat.
