4.6 engine swap

Wondering if anyone knows if a 2001 F150 4.6 engine/ trans,engine vin code W, will swap with my 2000 F150,engine vin code W. According to a local recking yard they will not interchange,wondering why??

They are probably think because you have coil packs and the 01 has COPs that it won't work. You can run the 01 with coil packs.
