Default 4.2L Issues

Has anyone else had nothing but problems with the 4.2L? I bought my 02 reg cab used at 67k miles 2.5 years ago. I knocked out cylinder 1 somehow with a misfire (wires shorted on the valve covers) within the first two months. Blew the slave cylinder on the tranny at 77k. Blew the lower intake manifold at 94k. Lost my throw out bearing at 95k. Now its at 105k and has an extremely rough idle and knocks in the engine. It has barely gotten me through high school. Some of these issues are maintenance related. From what I've heard from talking to mechanics and Ford dealerships around where I live, they never see these things with more than about 120k on them before they need a complete overhaul due to usually a cracked lower intake manifold and normal wear and tear. Anyone else having any issues with theirs?
