2016 Remote Start
My 16 F150 didn't come with remote start. I've read its fairly easy to add this to older models. Didn't really see a conclusive thread on part numbers, pros, cons. Obviously would like to make it part of the key, bi-directional would be great. Don't need the access control features.

I bought this from eBay. There is another thread on it as well. Installed in 5 min - works perfect.

I had an aftermarket remote start on a '97 Explorer and really loved it.
One thing though, check the specs on whatever you get. Some will get damaged if you try to jump start your vehicle or another vehicle with yours.
The one I had installed on my grandmothers car burned up when the starter shaft failed to engage one morning when she hit the start button. It failed to disengage and kept the starter turning causing both to burn up.
That said, in winter it's great to jump in a warm, defrosted vehicle and into a cooled vehicle in summer.
The remote should come with it's own key fob that (if desired) will need to be programmed to operate the electric door locks and security system.
