1990 F150 will not start. Please Help
I have a 1990 F150 4.9L V6 that I had bought from a guy who had not driven it in 15 years. After towing it to the house I replaced the battery, starter and solenoid and zooed it over real quick to ensure the motor wasn't seized.
After removing the bed I discovered that the fuel pumps were shot and the gas tanks leaked. I replaced both tanks and both pumps as well as all of the brake lines.
After trying to start it I discovered that I was not getting power to the tank selector. When I traced it back I discovered that I was not getting power from the fuel relay to the inertia switch. I replaced both relays but it still did not work so I then jumped the ignition hot to the wire that goes to the inertia switch. The pump will now run when the key is on but the truck will still not start.
My question is why do I have to jump the fuel relay to make the pump run? How can I fix this? And what would be my next step in attempting to make the truck run? Fuel rail and injectors? Camshaft and crankshaft sensors? Thank you in advance
