I have this same problem with my 2013 xlt. The Ford dealer does not believe me when I say my truck is making the noise. I am new to this forum and am not sure what steps to take next!

Glad to hear your dealership's taking steps in the right direction, broughham. Let me know how the repair goes; if you have any questions, shoot me a private message or reach out publicly.

Welcome to the forum! I'm Brittany, the current Ford customer service representative. To be certain, Cjdillon, you brought it into the dealership and they were unable to duplicate the noise? What I suggest if this is the case is to bring it to another local dealer for a second opinion. Additionally, please send along updated mileage; I'll make sure we've exhausted all our resources with this.

Brittany

Yes they could not duplicate the noise at their place. I asked them if they parked on an incline and the service manager was not sure. So hopefully this morning they will have more information

I bought a 2013 FX4 3 weeks ago and I'm experiencing the same problem. The vibration usually occurs when I'm shifting into park. I read in some earlier posts that there is a TSB for delayed shift. I Googled this and got the following result

http://www.fordproblems.com/tsbs/F-150/2013/

but I haven't been able to find the solution on this page. Looking for some advice on what to do next.
Thanks everyone.

Thanks for clarifying, Cjdillon, and for sending me some updates via PM. I replied to them today. Please keep me posted (here or privately) as this unfolds; I'll be on the lookout!

What's the current mileage on your truck, kylada007? Please fill me in with this, as well as whether or not you've been to the dealership recently to have them take a look. I suggest this as your first step, as they're best equipped to diagnose.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Brittany
My current mileage is 7,718. I was at the dealership last night and the representative I talked to had no idea what I was talking about. I even brought in some TSB's to show him and a print off of the threads from this site with the same issues. He didn't seem to appreciate me bringing in evidence that other people have the same issue but never the less we had a nice discussion and he setup and appointment for the transmission guy to take a look at it.
Thanks for your reply and I'll keep you posted as to what they tell me.

Thanks for clarifying, kylada007. I'll get this escalated to the regional customer manager for further assistance. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number. I'll get started right away!

The dealer is now telling me that the noise I am hearing is normal, the vibrating and noises my truck is making is far from normal. I love my truck, but would have never purchased it if it was going to make these loud "normal" noises.

If it's making a growling noise during shifts, as your shifter passes from park to drive/reverse or after its parked these are NOT normal. Don't let your dealer deny it. It may be hard for them to reproduce as I'm sure you are aware from other posts on this forum. My experience was 8 visits to the dealer. I wish I could charge Ford my billable rate for the time I spent driving back and forth and the days without a vehicle.

At least my dealer didn't tell me to ignore it. Their philosophy is customers won't take the time to complain and come back over and over again for nothing. So they tried.
