2013 fx4 vibration noise when I shift into park
#251
Update from a highly aggravated, first time Ford customer:
Last time it went in I think I forgot to mention that while the truck sat at the dealer for 6 days their landscaper peppered the side with rocks so it had to go to get painted.
Fast forward 4 weeks to when the dealer finally got the parts in and had a loaner. I drop it of for the separator plate to be installed, then the dealer was going to send it to their body shop to get the doors fixed. It has now been 7 days and it is not ready...why? Because whatever body shop they sent my new, 4k mile on it truck painted ONE door, not both like they should have and they "did not like how it came out" so they need to paint it again. So all totaled, I am in for 15 days and still have no truck. The first portion because they couldn't duplicate the problem, even though it took me about 15 feet to make it happen for them. the second part because they got the parts and had to touch up some chips in the paint. The TSB is about 6 hours worth of labor. And I have painted (personally) entire cars in two days. What kind of professional body shop has to paint a door to fix a chip...then doesn't like the way it came out!!!!!
Not happy, not happy, not happy. I'll be looking for a new dealer for future needs.
If this paint doesn't match perfectly when I pick this truck up...........

Finally Some Progress
I finally got my truck back today. TSB 14-0134 was completed. I will let everyone know in a few days if this TSB resolved the issues as described.
Hi Lambo13! I am new to the forum. I have a 2013 F-150 Supercrew, Ecoboost 3.5l.
Did you experience this same vibration noise when cold on upshifts?
- Mine does this all the time:
2014 fx4 moaning noise - YouTube
- As well as this:
2013 Ford F150 Transmission Noise - YouTube
I have had it a ford twice and they cannot reproduce the problem. I have 11,000 miles.
FORDSERVICE
Help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh

I have a 2014 f150 ecoboost that has started with the groaning noise when put into park. Or neutral. Have had the groan also through gears 3-6. Had it into my local dealer and they could not duplicate noise. Have an appointment with dealer where I purchased the truck to see if they can take care of it for me. Also have a video as proof that it does do it and I'm not crazy. Has anyone had problems with a 14? All I can find is 11-13's having the issue.

My 2014 is in for this TSB surgery today (wish me luck), it has been groaning since day one. I took it in a few times to let them hear the noise but it wasn’t doing it as much (on demand) during the summer. I called my service manager 2 weeks ago and got right to the point…nicely!
I said there is a TSB out for the groaning noise….he says yes. I said my truck has been groaning since day one and I have better things to do besides getting work done on my new trucks transmission. Why do I need to come in just for you to hear it…..I’m telling you it makes the noise? So he says on the phone, actually yes I can hear the noise and will order the parts right away. That’s a dealer!

I hope all goes well for me tonight. The dealer I bought the truck from is an hour and a half away. I know them all very well and they have always taken care of me. The dealer near me is full of a bunch of idiots. They told me I must be hearing the ecoboost activating. I then responded with you must not know what ecoboost even is. They were trying to say it was turbo noise. Which as we all know it is not.

Had this TSB (14-0134) done on my 13 Eco last week. It started making the noise about 3500 miles, and it just turned over 10K. When I told my advisor about the TSB, he made a note of it on the work order. He almost seemed relieved that I was offering a possible diagnosis.
The notes from the tech said that he "confirmed" the symptoms. So either he was able to reproduce the noise, or took my word for it. I don't really care which, because they fixed it the next day. I am so glad to be rid of that noise!
Props to Performance Ford-Lincoln in Charlotte.

Just got my f150 Eco 2013 back from shop. 13k on truck...second attempt to fix. They had it over 2 weeks because of back ordered parts. Was to fix groan and the clunk/click when put in reverse. 30 miles home and it is clinking and clunking again. Guess that tsb did not work.
Any ideas on who to call? Or what to do when tsb doesn't work?

Brought my 2014 STX 3.7 into dealer today. Told service manager about noise, informed him of the TSB and plunked down a printout of the complete comments thread here (26 pages). He looked at the printout then looked at me with a smile and said "Oh yeah, we just heard the noise." Ordered parts and scheduled TSB for next week. For what its worth...
