Ford's lack of response to this problem, along with my ecoboost losing power in the rain a few weeks ago, soured me on the company as a whole. Traded in my truck on a Tundra. I just don't have any faith the F150 will last a decade. Shame, as I really liked the truck. Good luck.

FORD: count this as one customer you have lost for life because of your poor service.

Too bad. The loss of power in heavy rain is an easy fix. Had mine done a month back. And this tansmission groan is now fixed. My dealer might have been more up-front in describing the issue than some others. So I knew that Ford was working on it and didn't get a "lack of response" feeling like you did.

Truck has been good so far (3days) here is what was on the service ticket:
PERFORMED TSB 14-0134 PER FORD INSTRUCTIONS, INSTALLED SEPERATOR PLATE
1 CL3Z*7Z490*C PLATE AND GASKET ASY.
9 XT*10*QLVC OIL
Feels like new again shifting alot smoother, MPG even are up. Anything changes I'll be back.
Thanks CRYSTAL, ur a sweetheart

I've been suffering this same issue as well and finally captured it on video. Turn your speakers up and witness the problem first hand. A few observations:
  • This was going from Drive to Park after decent commute (definitely warmed up and at operating temp).
  • The previously mentioned transmission coolant line is vibrating significantly while this moan is active.
  • At the 1:20 mark the moan mysteriously disappears and can't be recreated.
  • When the video starts the problem/sound is already present (sounds like a lawnmower initially).
  • I started the vid in portrait view, then turned my phone sideways and unfortunately the camera app didn't adjust.

Yes sir from day one! Still not fixed due to my dealer being swamped with tranny issues.

Same deal with me, dealer's transmission tech is all booked up through September.

Yes sir, I had this problem with my 2014 FX4 but I think it has been fixed.
I took it in for service at the dealership and they found that the factory had shipped the truck 1 QUART low on transmission fluid.
It has only been one week, time will tell but so far, no shifting problems and the noise is gone when shifting in to park.

Thanks for the quick response. Has anybody had a specific TSB applied to their 2014?

The service dept at my dealer has been unable to find anything specifically related to a 2014.
