2013 EcoBoost recall
I happened to log into myford today and saw a recall on my home page. I searched the forum and have not seen anyone discussing this. It appears it is for 2013 EcoBoosts and they need to have the powertrain control module reprogrammed. I was able to get into the dealership this afternoon and the programming takes about 1.5 hours (or 3 in my case because they are busy). I can't believe I already have a recall on a car I have owned for 2 months...

Had mine for 1 week before it was in the shop for 2 days....problem one was this recall....problem two was when I hooked my trailer and ranger crew to the back to drag it to the ranch for a work weekend....at 60 mph I thought the wheels were going to shake off the truck. They "can't figure it out" on the vibrations/shaking. Hooked it up to the wifes Expedition without incident and I hauled this trailer around for about 30K miles behind the megacab I traded and never knew it was back there.
Anyone have any towing issues?? total weight was maybe 2800 lbs on the high side.

I do not have the number because I haven't received the letter yet. I read that the dealerships are required to notify customers by Sept 10th. I just happen to login and see it today and the number is not listed online. Here is the exact wording online:
Title: REPROGRAM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
"A recall is an action by the Company to remedy a safety or emissions-related concern related to a vehicle defect or regulatory requirement. It may require that you return your vehicle to the dealer for service. If your vehicle is not affected, it may be because it was built at a different time or using a different part than the affected vehicles."

Update: The recall took 4 hours (I think because they were busy). I have been averaging 17.9 mpg with a commute which is mostly between 40-60 mph, 25 miles each way, and about 10 stop lights. This morning I checked when I got to work and I got 21.6 mpg. It is a small sample size but definitely trending in the right direction!
