Default 2012 F-150 Remote Starter

I'm putting in a remote starter for my 2012 F-150. The website I bought the part from states "The Remote Start Hood Switch Kit (from Ford Custom Accessories) is required if your vehicle is not equipped with a factory-installed hood switch." Is there any easy way to determine if I have this factory installed hood switch? I'm unsure if I need to purchase this as well. Any help is appreciated!

Mine is installed on the drivers side edge under the hood in close to the center from front to the windshield. Installed there from the factory.

Did your truck come with the alarm, with the remote in the key?

If so, then you have the hood switch.

You don't want a hood switch. Nothing but problems!
