Is there some type of recall for the 2011 5.0 f150 gas tank? Because i drove it a total of less then 6 miles today and the miles to empty went from 238 miles to empty down to 206 miles to empty. Its my moms truck. And she said drove it 4 miles yesterday and it was at 92 and went to 80. These are all flat roads no hills. And driving like an old person. If any one has insight let me know. Also the truck has just over 25,000 miles on the clock

That miles to empty is based on your real time mpg, so if you start your truck up and let it idle for a few minutes (getting 0mpg) that'll drop the average a ton and that's what the miles to empty is based off of is your current mpg. As that varies so will your miles to empty

It also has something to do with the way the truck is sitting. Down hill the tank reads fuller than sitting straight. Might have just been slightly downhill.

I've found it to be quite accurate, almost the hard way. Long story short, it read 7 miles till empty and I put 26 gallons in my 26 gallon tank.

I've never run mine right down but I've gotten close, it was reading 75km until empty this past summer. I had to put 123 liters into it to fill. I usually hand calculate an average of 13L/100km so it was only 3ish liters off of what the 136 liter tank was capable of.

It's pretty accurate and will adjust itself constantly based on your driving during that particular tank. Don't be shocked to see it vary up and down.

I've seen it vary just based on shutting the truck off, then starting it back up minutes later

Drive the speed limit, if not 5mph slower and you can stretch it out. I did that one time after a latenight party and I had no idea where the closest open gas station was.
